The trust has just decided to introduce a personal relationships at work policy after fifty years working quite happily without one.

The only example of one I have seen is rubbish. It actively prevents anybody from gaining promotion or appointment if they would become a direct line manager or supervisor to anyone with whom they have a personal relationship.

Has anybody got an example of a workable policy?

I'm working against any such policy (it affects about 10% of my members) but if one gets forced through I'd like to make it as weak as possible.

Which Trust is this? It could certainly affect my fiance and I if it gets put in place in our trust.

People get enough grief for having relationships in work already.

I can't find any specific reference to this situation in the policies here, although such a restriction would appear to be against the Health Board's Equal Opportunities Policy.
