We're currently taking applications for a Nuclear Medicine Technician post and a Radiopharmacy Technician post for our new deparment at Northampton General Hospital. We're a nice lot of people, so if you fancy do a bit of Nuclear Medicine, why not apply? Here's the advert, which is also available on the NHS jobs website:
Nuclear Medicine Technician Band 5 - 37.5 hours per week
Part time Radiopharmacy Technician Band 5 - 18.75 hours per week
The Nuclear Medicine service at Northampton General Hospital is due to relocate to new purpose built facilities and we are looking to expand our current workforce. You will be joining a friendly team of technologists, radiographers, clerical staff and physicists.
The department performed over 2500 imaging and therapy procedures in 2007 and it is envisaged that this figure will rise in 2008 as we introduce additional imaging and non imaging procedures to the service. Future developments will include the introduction of Nuclear Cardiology and PET facilities.
As part of the current expansion we will be installing two dual headed gamma camera systems (one with CT capabilities) and one dedicated cardiac gamma camera. Facilities also include a licensed Radiopharmacy with Radiopharmacy production and blood labelling rooms plus a non-imaging procedure laboratory.
Nuclear Medicine Technician: The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of the Nuclear Medicine Service including rotation through the Radiopharmacy, which will require the post holder to start at 7am.
Radiopharmacy Technician: The successful candidates will be expected to participate in all aspects of the Radiopharmacy and non-imaging laboratory procedures as part of the multidisciplinary team. The Radiopharmacy currently provides radiopharmaceuticals for Northampton General and Kettering General Hospitals and requires the post holder to commence work at 7am. The Radiopharmacy works closely with the Quality Assurance section of the main hospital pharmacy and as such will require the post holder to liaise with pharmacy staff.
The ability to be flexible, and work extra hours to provide cover for colleagues will be essential. Please see person specifications and job descriptions for further essential and desirable qualification and skills.
So if you are a willing and enthusiastic individual who would like to join this friendly team we would like to hear from you.
For further information and/or to arrange an informal visit, please contact Sue Wilson, Chief Technician, Nuclear Medicine on 01604 545449. |
