Ah, yes, I was a Spandau Ballet girl, girl being the operative word as it was when I was at primary school, although Martin Kemp was my favourite! Most of the other girls were ogling Wham or Duran Duran but I had to be different! Laughing My tastes "matured" (?) to A-Ha at secondary school.

Oh sorry, Val. Embarassed Not paying attention properly. In my defence, I'd only just woken up. Or maybe it was the emoticon in Sejie's post just above the Tony Hadley picture? For some reason I think of that as "Val's emoticon".....Along with this one bbs

Very Happy

Thanks for posting those Adam and the Ants link. Smile I know what I'll be doing next time DP goes out for the evening with his drinking buddy. Very Happy Although DP isn't exactly impressed with me going "phwoar" at Adam AnT vids - "at your age" Rolling Eyes was his actual comment.

I wonder if there is a YouTube clip of the AATA first appearance on TOTP?

Well let's get one thing clear here, Simon le Bon was mine between late 1982 and 1984. He was going to marry me and everything. If the relationship fell apart I was going to settle for John Taylor instead. I had a JT fringe (dyed blonde) and a grey trilby that I used to wear, such was my devotion to Duran Duran.

Spandau Ballet were the enemy, although I secretly like their music and fancied Steve Kemp, the sax player with the floppy blonde hair.

Wham! Nah..... George Michael didn't do it for me and I never bought any of their singles, although I did have a CHOOSE LIFE T-shirt.

Me too...only as I'd already dyed my hair a few days previously, when I dyed my fringe it kind of went greenish (if I remember rightly). I got suspended from school til my hair was back to 1 main colour... Of course it opened the floodgates then didn't it...loads of girls (& a few boys too) were dying their fringes weird colours in the hope of getting suspended rofl rofl
