KAren - that photo is hilarious!
Chokers were a nightmare weren't they? I have a short neck so I just looked like I was trying to hold my head on to my shoulders with material!
Kerry - yes, let's see some.
Lou x
btw - is neon back in fashion? I've seen loads of people wearing it lately, but they've all been in groups so I wasn't sure if it was just something to make them stand out! Now I do feel old! |

Love them! Danu, is that pitch anywhere i'd recognise?
I have pics of me in a shell suit somewhere, also 80s pics of me aged 12 in a pink shoulder padded celine dion style suit at my mum's wedding, complete with poodle perm
Also got some of me in my faux-goth stage (our school was to chavvy for real ones) |

I think later on I used to scrape my hair up when it was wet, so it was tight (and headachey!) and flat and then the curls tumbled over. I tell you what I'd love to have half the amount of hair now that I had then. Blasted kids, made my hips wider and hair thinner!!
I didn't wear belts, I suspect that was a little too girly for me.
I think the shoes I had on in that first photo would have been copy Pods - remember those? Colourful t-barish sandals/shoes. |
I had a pair of Pods. Red ones. My flat mate had the baby pink ones. They were great. Really comfy.
I had a poodly perm too. Hennaed red. Did anyone else have one of those banana shaped clips which fitted from the nape of the neck to the top of the head. Made your hair look a bit like a naff version of a mohican. I loved mine.

| Oh yes, banana combs - about 1997/8 ish? I used to wear those when I first went out with dh, I had permed hair but the roots never really held the perm so I could scoop all my hair into a banana and just the curly bits stuck out at the back. Do they still sell them? |

1987/88 surely? I haven't seen one for years, though there is a lady who works in our local Woolies probably has one. She's about 50ish and dresses like a 1980s teenager, complete with blue mascara and pink frosted lipstick. She even has a pink sparkly bike.
