I have to go to the dentist at 11 or lots and lots of work, I am feeling physically sick about it, I really hate dentists.
DH left without his phone after an argument so I have no idea if he arrived in the ar$e end of B'ham safely, nor do I have any idea if he'll be picking up DD1 tonight It was my birthday yesterday and I was told go relax in the bath, then read a book he'd sort everything for today- woke to find bright orange socks for DS1 (only allowed black) 2 missed matched greying last years socks for DD2 and a pair of DS1's for DS2, DS2's uniform hadn't gone in the wash & none of DD3s clothes were dry as he'd over loaded the dryer with pointless things.
He'd only washed himself the pair of black trousers which the crotch has ripped on and when I muttered I should have stayed up and done it myself I got a big rant about his not being able to do everything... I truly, really whole heartedly get this but if you know you can't do it then don't send me to read and tell me it's all been sorted
So he left without so much as wishing me good luck at the dentist- I have no idea how I'm getting the 3 middle ones home at 3.30 as I'll have had a tooth removed, a root canal and 2 teeth dug out and temporary filled for an in-lay crown
So yes, distract me please... and any suggestions of good pain relief would be helpful too (allergic to cocodamol) crunchy or otherwise. _________________ Really is, Just Beka.

Well I've dropped the kids off at school and gone straight to Go Outdoors to replace the broken chair they sol me on Saturday.
I've done an Asda shop and I'm currently sat in their Caf with a drink.
This afternoon I'm taking my son for a hospital hearing test at 1.30. Picking the girls up from school and then straight to swimming lessons so we won't be home till after 6.
I have a mountain of housework to tackle but no time to do it today properly but im heading home for a couple of hours so will do something houseworky while there.
I'm also trying to decide if I should hire a car for the weekend and monday so I can make the most of the kids being off school on Monday. _________________

Eurgh, dentists! I hope it's not too bad.
I get you with your DH. Whenever I got out anywhere for the night I have to make sure they've got all their pyjamas and clothes for the next day ready. Heaven forbid DH could actually sort it out himself - although now they are all older they do it themselves mainly.
I'm glad my kids schools aren't strict on sock colour! Mine go in with odd socks a lot of the time.
I'm not doing much, though I've just realised I should start thinking about Caleb & Reuben's birthday presents now it's May and their birthday is on the 17th. They're both still insistent they want sparkly shoes, so I have to find some! _________________ Vicky, mum to 5 lovely boys! |

Oh Beka, what a miserable day.
I'm really not sure I have anything to distract you with though, daring tales of thrilling housework? I've done lots but still have the feeling I'm firefighting and just moving things around.
Or the saga of ds telling me he couldn't do his homework because he didn't have the sheet and then discovering he could have done it anyway. He went into school with a quivering lip at having been busted after I spoke to the teacher and I didn't know whether to feel cross with him or sorry for him
I have a bit of a dilemma, the decorator is coming back to finish off tonight, he's doing the glosss. At the moment the finish around the woodwork is quite uneven and I'm a bit worried about how its going to look so I need to ask him about it don't I? I hate stuff like that. Also dh and I will both have to go out before he leaves and I don't want to pay him without seeing the work. It's not unreasonable to ask him to come back for his money tomorrow is it? His day job has him only a few minutes away so it shouldn't take him hugely out of his way.
I really don't like being a grown up sometimes.

Ugh Beka, that's a moment to make men look bad I hate situations like that too.
I've just realised the time and doubt I'm here in time to distract you now! Was going to suggest arnica and rescue remedy, plus on the dot paracetamol. That's how I handle painful things anyway. And sleep.
Can any parents take over the school run for you? Or another school parent friend?
Sarah, just ask It may be something he was going to sort out at the end anyway, but if not, this is something you're paying for right? So you're entitled to pay for a proper job done with it
I'm being boring. Waiting for shopping delivery and not making the most of hanging around with DH. I feel like we should make the most of our time together - especially as I was sound asleep by the time he got home last night - but there's not really much to do and Robin is hogging time with him
I keep thinking I should make plans for things I want done before birth, that's constructive right? The children have thursday and friday off school, so maybe with a 5 day weekend I could get on with stuff. _________________ Proud owner of: Edward Cullen, Friends, Lost, Ben and Jerrys

ohh Sarah, I hate the awkward situations where you know you need to stick up for yourself but feel bad for doing so. I hope it works out ok.
Andrea I hope they change it no problems for you, I've been umming and ahhing about trekking out to our nearest Go outdoors (They're a 40 minute drive away)
Vicky, I know it's going to be bad... lots of work been sheduled and they've broken it down to two 45 minute appts- this is the first of them, I am currently at "shuffling around the house feeling like I need to pee but know it's just nerves" state. I've been through child birth drug free five times, I've broken bones so why the hell does the dentist bother me so much _________________ Really is, Just Beka.

ohhh Elaine, you snook in there- I'm just sat waiting for my mother (coming to sit with DD3 for me so I don't have to take her in the treatment room with me) I had forgot about the arnica so thank you for that- any idea what dose?
Good luck with the baby planning too! _________________ Really is, Just Beka.

Erk, don't ask me about dosage!
Uhm, well, thinking labour (and that's a little more intense than teeth maybe?) I take quite often to begin with, then slow down.
I may be way off here, but maybe two hours of 30 minutes between doses, then hourly for another couple of hours and see how it is?
Like I said, I'm not the best on this, I'm more instinctive than anything. Rescue remedy would be good if you're panicky though, and you can take before and after (especially if you're shaky afterwards) and don't forget you can put some in a bottle of water to sip through the day. _________________ Proud owner of: Edward Cullen, Friends, Lost, Ben and Jerrys

Good luck beka, I hate dentists too
I'm having a boring day. Ds and dh were throwing up yesterday and through Sunday night but ds is fine now and back at school, dh still feels ropey and a bit pathetic so he's still in bed.
Dd3 is just stirring from her nap so I'll get the hoovering done as soon as she's up and then it's time to start lunch. Off to choose her picture from her photoshoot last week (they do a free one every 6 months or so and you get the lot at the end of the 18 months, obviously trying to persuade you to buy some on the way!) then it's time to sort tea and pick the kids up!
Just can't be bothered today tho. Loads to do but feeling very fat and these braxton hicks that have started are quite uncomfortable
Still waiting for the estate agent to confirm either way if the house we're buying is deregistered or not. 2.5 weeks just wasted so far. I should be half way thru packing by now _________________ Mum to Michael 9, Harriet 7, Evelyn 6 and...

Oohh Rodders, you are naughty!
I am having my afternoon slump. I hate this, because I sit here thinking of all the things I would like to get on with but feel like I can't move. And I watch the clock ticking ever towards school run time
Honestly, pregnancy makes me feel so lazy. I know so many people that manage to get all sorts done right up until they give birth and I've no idea how they manage it. I had the best sleep I've had in months last night, yet woke up barely able to drag myself out of bed - and I've looked forward to going back ever since! _________________ Proud owner of: Edward Cullen, Friends, Lost, Ben and Jerrys

Rodders!
Beka you have my sympathy on the dentist thing - hope it's not as bad as you fear.
Another wet school run this morning but at least I didn't have to take Dd (who had slept until 8.15am so wasn't ready) because Dh was working at home. Pottered around at home for the rest of the morning, took Dd to FSU and was intending to go for a run (didn't make it yesterday because supposedly ill Dh had other ideas while dd was at FSU ) but then it started raining again so I did a half hour Davina DVD workout instead.
Getting really excited about our choir trip to the recording studio this evening because last night's rehearsal sounded really good. _________________ Sarah, SAHM to Ollie (01/2002), Dom (10/2004) and Antonia (11/2008)
