I want to buy a new buggy for Dd. Although we have a pram and a 3 wheeler we still need an umbrella fold buggy for the car and bus. We had a Maclaren techno when ds1 was a baby which we loved and ran into the ground. We replaced it with a ToysRus own brand when ds2 was a toddler and the techno died. This is now knackered so what to buy? I really like the bigger wheels on the techno and we need a high handle height and reasonably lightweight. Max £100.

Any suggestions? (Have been looking at OBabys, silver cross pop and just looked at M&P for the first time.)

I love my zia petite star make them but we got the toysrus one with the adjustable handle I folds a bit bigger than the zap but lies flat has a rain cover and a cozy toes I paid £130 I can swing it in and out of the boot easily even when my hands are bad. DD who is 7 can work it and loves to walk her brother.

Only one who isn't keen id dh and thats because he uses a biggy insted of a walking stick and it will not support him he prefers the Chicco london buggy (I hate it) the cheap mamas and papas (no raicover etc)

The zia is my hands down choice and its buying that that has made me decide to sell my phil and teds Smile

I would say Zia or Zapp too, having seen both they're fab, and the recline on the Zia is great.

We have an Obaby Atlas and it is fine, does the job but is a bit flimsy and I was blown away by how much easier a Zapp is to push. I wanted one suitable from birth though, and didn't know about the Zia at the time.

I love the zapp also, but it doesn't have a high handle height.

Sarah - you'd probably find the zapp uncomfy to push as handle height is low, plus it has no shopping basket and is very easy to topple if I hang DS bookbag & lunchbox on it!
I really like my Techno XT with full recline and adjustable handle height.

Is this the one you mean? http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Travel-and-Pushchairs/Travel-Systems-and-Pushchairs/3-Wheelers/Bruin-Zia-Pushchair-in-Cranberry(0013662) Is it as compact as a traditional stroller for going on the bus? Is it big enough/comfortable enough for a bigger child given that Dd is 19mths already. You can buy buggy weights to solve the tipping issue can't you?

I think what I really want is another techno but I didn't want to spend that much. Confused

This is probably a better description:

http://www.mothercare.com/Petite-Star-Zia-Blue-Stroller/dp/B00294RLUW/sr=1-1/qid=1278580234/ref=sr_1_1/278-9812953-3205801?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=71451031&mcb=core

It folds up like a box rather than a stick IYSWIM. Very compact though.

I know the Zapp is pretty big, my friend's almost 4 year old fits very well in hers. I imagine the Zia is similar.

Are you averse to a techno from Ebay?

Thank you. I think the Bruin is the same except that it has adjustable handles?

Now and again I have looked at ebay for a techno but they still seem to go for £80+ which seems a lot for something secondhand (although I know it isn't really given the new price!)

I have that (in a different colour) doesn't seem that lightweight and it's very long when folded with the seat parent facing. Also the handles annoy me because they feel wobbly and the basket wont take much weight, other than that it's great. (I do like this pram, it's just little things that niggle me).

Hmm, well. Still watching ebay for a techno but not getting anywhere.

Anyone tried a Hauck capri?
http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10751&langId=-1&productId=99869&source=froogle&cm_mmc=Froogle-_-Shopping%20Sites-_-CPC-_-Froogle

Someone at toddlers was raving about hers the other day. I know it's a "box" fold rather than umbrella and vey slightly bigger than a traditional stroller but think it would still be ok on bus etc. Do wonder how big the seat is for an older toddler though given that Dd is 20mth already.

Good to hear Ryder is good - I was watching one this morning which went for £37 in the end. Did say it was very well used though.
