Okay - what am I?
I'm rollerskating in brief white shorts with the help of large Dalmatian dogs (and I will also accept the answer 'clinically insane')...
I'm metal and have an over-developed sense of humour about earthlings (and a poor sense of cuisine )...
I'm red and white and striped...and really sneaky! With good teeth and bones, though...
I'm a fan of baggy striped pyjamas, with kleptomaniac fridge tendencies and a surprisingly good pelvic wriggling routine and singing voice!
First to get all the answers gets...erm..a round of applause from all the others here (we can help balance each other's walking frames briefly )

I can see the advert in my mind but cannot think what it was for. It wasn't hairspray was it?

Cadbury;s Fruit and Nut chocolate. Voiced by Frank Muir to some music from the Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikovsky.
How about this one
"She flies like a bird in the skyy ay ay ay" to a picture of a balloon carrying the product into the sky
Might be actually more 70s than 80s though.
