Hi all great forum

*First Name: Barb

*Location: Mountains of SW New Mexico

*Level Of Parelli You Are Studying: Level 3 working to tape 2 savvys and send them off for coaching and assessement...maybe in april when my horse is less harry and the snow is off the ground

*Level of Dressage You School and/or Compete at: use to compete at 2nd level and I also rode in eventing to intermediate...but the dressage does not always relate to the USDF levels lots of BHS test. I am going to honor the program and not compete until I pass my level 3. 3 years ago I did compete both my levels horse and my mare at 1st level. He was ready she was not quite there.

*Number of Years In Horses: 39 started about age 3 or should I just say from birth...even if they were not around I wanted to be with them.

*Number of Years In Dressage: 15+ and not enough to be really good and always needing more of a high level understanding

*Number of Years in PHN or NH: just turned 3 years

*Info about horses do you ride/play with: 3 horses; levels horse Tudor 13 x wild stallion with mares abandoned XQH - really doll, trys hard but very subtle and dominate
2 mares both 1/2 sisters TB with lots of famous running blood. One is a daughter of my event mare and she is getting close to level 3 one is my extreme mare that led me to parelli. She has a broken hip and is not sound to ride. I play with her on the ground and hope to breed her and enter her in a 7 games workshop this year. I am so thankful to her every day for bringing me to this program.

*How you were exposed to Dressage: through eventing - really hated it at the begining my weakest phase but then I grew to love it as my brains grew in.

*How you were exposed to PHN: beginer challenged me with my extreme mare to read these silly little books (old level 1) and at the same time I saw linda on RFDtv talking about the advice to put bullet in her horses head...just what I was also told to do. So glad the beginer and linda were right

*How you found this forum: the yahoo group

*Most important lesson you have learned so far: oooh so many I will have to think on that but maybe - feel

*Favorite horse-related quote: not a horse quote ... but a favorite quote

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.

*Favorite Dressage trainer/rider: yikes I have so many that I have really liked (others I did not) but right now I am enjoying reading walter zettl (old book that I had for years) and his tapes I got in 2006. I also really love with Karen Rolf and Linda are bring to the program.

*Favorite picture of you and/or your horse: One of us going over a cross country jump or a stadium fence I will add the link later. Due to health issues I can no longer jump...but I can still dream.

Hey folks, I'm glad to be here.

first name: Carin
Location: Glendale, California (near Los Angeles)
Level of Parelli you are studying: level 3
Level of dressage you school and/or compete at: none
Number of years in horses: 37
Number of years in dressage: zero
Number of years in PNH/NH: 10 years in Parelli
Info about horses you ride/play with: Marcus, an 11yo Friesian gelding.
How your were expossed to dressage: The Disney movie "Miracle of the White Horses" of course! Laughing But seriously, after I bought Marcus as a weanling I thought I should learn dressage since that is what he was bred for. Hilda Gurney boarded down the street and I thought I could learn a thing or two from such a successful dressage rider. I started taking lessons from one of her students on one of their horses. I lasted 3 months, I hated it and decided I wasn't going to ride my horse THAT way. I should have researched trainers more. Hilda and her school are very much into force.
How you were exposed to PNH: I was at a Lecture by Dr. Robert Miller. He was showing a video of Pat and his students in Australia all riding around bareback and bridleless and it blew my socks off. A friend of mine who boarded with me used the same orange stick when she rode and she was there at the lecture. I asked her about it and she told me about Pat Parelli and introduced me to PNH instructor Pat Mitchell who was also at the lecture.
How you found this forum: On the savvy club site.
Most important lesson you have learned so far: Don't act like a predator.
Favorite horse related quote: "Lord, let me go to no Heaven in which there are no horses"
Favorite Dressage trainer: Walter Zettl, Luis Lucio

Hi everyone! Thought I'd start with this easy to intro list!

*First Name: Jennifer
*Location: Williamston, SC
*Level Of Parelli You Are Studying: 1st level
*Level of Dressage You School and/or Compete at: was competing Training and schooling 1st with my thoroughbred but started with new horse so starting over!
*Number of Years In Horses: 21yrs but have loved them since I was born I think.
*Number of Years In Dressage: 6yrs
*Number of Years in PHN or NH: <1.. I started Parelli about 4 weeks ago.
*Info about horses do you ride/play with: My horse is a Paint mare named Shelby and she is 9yrs old. She is the subtle dominant type (I won't push you around but I bet you can't move me!) A mare that I am currently looking at to buy if we work out together is Cheyenne and she is an 8yr old Arab. She is much more sensitive, has a high play drive, and constantly have to play the friendly game!
*How you were exposed to Dressage: When I started riding at a stable in North Carolina before I moved to SC, the trainer there taught dressage and hunt seat. I fell in love with the dressage when I was working with my thoroughbred.
*How you were exposed to PHN: I had heard quite a few people mention it and wasn't sure about it. The way some people talk about it, it's some type of voodoo or something, so I hadn't made an opinion. Then I moved to a stable where a lot of boarders use Parelli and got to see what they were doing, and I was hooked Smile
*How you found this forum: Parelli search on Yahoo Groups.
*Most important lesson you have learned so far: Patience and persist persist persist!

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well!! Happy horsey!
