I had not been out to the Suc Raceway since 1999. But my first night out in my 84 Z28 5.0 (yeah thats right, a 305) I earned myself one of these.
Last race was me and a 69 Chevelle. Same dial in (15.5) so no handicap. I was far enough ahead of the guy I hit the brakes hard before crossing the line so I would not break out and did a 15.5 (whew!). I did no adjustment for the cool night air and such.
My brother was out watching and he said these guys were calling me a loser while I staged. When my brother saw the light in my lane he turned and laughed at them.
Granted they were both Chevrolets, Camaros are just awsome! |

| I had a great time too, in my 2002 Z28 6 speed. My best time was 14.2 at 102 mph. Thanks Casey for the coaching. I'll have to practice my speed shifting for the next time. |

| My best time of the night was a 13.229 at 109.832 in a 2010 1SS 6sp manual. Hey Rick, glad to hear your best time of the night was against me in a 2010 vs 2010 run. Both of our reaction times were about the same, but I finished just ahead with a 13.416 @ 110.138. It's always funny when the top end speed of my slower time was faster. It was a fun time for me too, and think we should head out there again on Wednesday May 5th which is a Camaro night. |

By the way, I found this info on the Sacramento raceway site for pricing etc...
Side by side street style racing for all fully muffled vehicles. All vehicles must pass a standard tech inspection to compete. No eliminations. Race against friends with dial-ins or heads-up, it's your choice.
General Admission: $5
Race Entry: $35 car/driver
Gates Open: 5:00 PM. Racing 6:00 - 10:00

I am sure the gates open around 5:00pm.
It is open to who ever wants to race, if you dont want to race and just watch then you just pay the entry at the door. But if you want to race then you pay that entry. |
