You are best to test your connection using another modem/router but as your connection is specific times of the day i think it is heavy traffic and servers/hops/networks between exchanges being over capacity, due to either crappy hardware on the network owners side or terrible networking.

Do not know if it is the same mine did it about 2 years ago and I had the cable company come out with a new modem and that fixed my problem.

traeroutes should show you were the problem is, may be the gameserver network or the "networks between you and them.

if some servers' ping stays and other sprints up I assume it's your isp, but it might be difficult to make them check it

Well there is no internet slow down on my end....!!?? Was on the phone with my provider for longer than I would have liked!

As I look closer, I notice not all of the wolf servers pings shoot through the roof. Some stay the same and some sky rocket at night.

Now I am really confused! A wolf master server issue? Hell, I don't know anymore...

sorry, I forgot I was to give you some more explanation, so here goes:

to make sure you don't have anyone stealing your net you need to check your router's statistics - there is a website where you can configure your router - the address usually is something like 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.16.1 - you should find it in the router's manual, if you haven't got it let me know i'll look for it somewhere over the net. When you have this page there must be stats/status or something similar somewhere on that page - you should be able to see IP addresses currently connected to your router. you should check if there's someone who should not be there - i mean when you connect using a laptop and someone uses a desktop there should only be 2 addresses listed.
If you have only your machines connected, you can call your ISP and say - hey! my net speed sucks, do something or I'll sue you!!

As an example...I had my buddy come over with his laptop. And it showed on his puter that my thingy was "secured" and wouldnt let him connect without the pw.

Rams, I'd assumed when you input the router settings i.e. ip address or username and password for service provider that you switched on wireless encryption or added a passkey?

Well I did set up my shpeel as "secured". And it says this when I check my wireless network connections in range. But that is the only thing I did.

You should still give them a ring to say "recently <insert no of weeks/months> there has been a severe degradation in service and that you want to know when the problem will be fixed"

This will inevitably lead to "the tests" they ask you to do but the emphasis is on how the service has changed which is a breach of their terms and conditions. Good Luck!
