I came 4th overall thus continuing the theme of mediocrity. I did end up with a spot prize for the first send off (which was a chainsaw foul).

As it happens I got a 1-1-1 record overall. First game against mike end up with only a tree and a line-elf on the pitch. Paul then tore me a new one with his undead with 6 cas to nil. Finally Dougie and I just had a laugh and bashed our way to a draw.

All in all a great day. Congrats to Paul and many thanks to Ant.

Hi guys,

I was so tired last night that I just went to bed as soon as I got in. I was struggling to listen to what JR was saying in the car on the way home. I gather he was looking forward to night on the town (rather him that me).

Final Results:

1st - CoffinDodger (Paul)
2nd - JR
3rd - Furelli (Mike)

Most Casualties - Stuart
Most Touchdowns - Furelli
Best Painted - Ross

Wooden Spoon - Stuart

Although 2 other people finished with the same points as Stuart it was only because of lack of painted teams therefore, I deceided to give Stuart the wooden spoon.

Thanks to everyone for turning up and help make it a really fun day and congratulations to those of you who won prizes.

Hopefully we can do it again next year.

I'll put some pics up later...

Ant

Cheers Ant, I'm going through the pictures now as well, minis came out fine (know what I'm doing there at least!) however I stupidly forgot to change the settings back, bar taking it off macro mode, when taking the other shots hence they're all blurred. Didn't really have time between games to take many either (normally take a few hundred and use the best), got a few quick shots off after my first game though, I'll tidy what I have up in photoshop and post them here.

STOMP!!!

You were warned!

Thanks to everyone I played against for 3 very challenging games.

1st Game was vs Ant (who just played the one game due to last player arriving a bit late) and his Humans. I was helped to a 3-1 win by a nice blitz, being able to get to the ball in Ants backfield after an untimely turnover before he'd got hold of the ball and a nice touchback helped for the third. Getting quite a few Casualties (3 I think) and fouling a couple of players off the pitch once the ref was got helped too Smile

Second game against Swntzu was closer than the 2-0 scoreline indicates. A little more patience from the Amazons might have seen a 1-1 score line instead - and I think Kar Meng has figured out that impacted cages on the sidelines aint so secure Smile Again helped by scoring a couple of casualties, and just enough KOs that the chainsaw was only on for 3 turns at the end of the first half (he managed to stun one of my mummies a couple of times)

Third game against JR got off to a great start. I kicked and promptly got my Sure Hands Ghoul taken out of the game by a thrown rock. JR then KO'd a skellie and stunned two or three players in turn one... managed to just hold the team together, get them back on their feet and almost stopped the score, getting the ball free two spaces before the scoreline thanks to an untimely turnover and a lucky 1d blitz. Unfortunately my re-roll free state meant that the wight trying to get the ball fell over on it, and JR ran in to score. Managed a reasonably quick response for 1-1 in the second half and was up 11 players to 9 for the final drive. Managed to put a lot of pressure on JRs guys and started to pile up the KOs and casualties. just after I got the ball, JRs one real chance to get it back was screwed up by his MINIataur. That and being down to four or five functioning players made it fairly easy for me to stall a turn for 2-1 in turn 8.

Thanks again to everyone for the great games - don't think anyone made more than a single coaching error in any of the games, and no-one had amazingly good or bad luck (except Ant who probably deserves it Wink lol ). Also thanks to Ant for the organising of the event. Same again next year, but bigger!

BFN

Congrats Paul, nice rundown of the games, must admit I had half an eye on that final game between yourself and JR at times, looked damned close and seems it was until the last drive. Shame the picture of yourself with that funky ring (along with most others) didn't come out.

Anyway here are the pictures that were salvageable, the majority being of the legacy team:

Kingdom Cup 2009

Next time around (probably the Albabowl for me) / next year I'll make sure to get things sorted and have a decent set of shots throughout each stage. Hopefully when not playing the last two games Ant got some though. Smile

Few shots:

Brilliant, much better shots, I didn't even notice you taken them, too firmly fixed on the board trying to get myself out of messes of my own making I expect! Wink

Ross is a Dutch guy from Cuper. He used humans with an ogre. During his second game I think Mike got 6 TDs at least. Ouch!

I think I speak for all of us when I say get that you are expected there next year. Get it sorted!
