I have onboard sound on my motherboard.

I Have cheked this device, locate problems (says no problemo), when i test it i can c the volume meter on my screen moving but still no sound, i have deleted it and reinstalled it, i have been looking on forums for a way to fix this but i only can find more and more people whit the same problem.

And thats not al whit Vista (Ultimate). I had to re-installed some software (like msn) a few time by now already cause windows says its not working anymore. For evrything thing i do it askes me "Are you sure you want to download" and other anoying Vista pop ups.

I already made up my mind and delete this Vista and put back my good old stable XP. But thats already another quest for me trying to delete vista (format) from C:/

The windows XP cd-rom bootable disc wont boot on my new pc whit vista on it.

Now ive been trying to look up how i can "Google:- How to remove Vista"

Damn damn crap crap f**k f**k
f**k damn crap...

Can you not just reformat the drive wiping everything from it, does windows have a disk utility?

I think Vista is only for users who want a ready made computer with all native applications installed pre purchase.

Been using my ex's pc, well being nosey and i never though i'd say "Give me XP please!!!" Don't like Vista at all.

"Are you sure you want to download" and other annoying Vista pop ups

these are not annoying - they provide "better security" LOL - one of Microsoft's biggest mistakes - they couldn't develop a secure system, so they decided to move the responsibility concerning security to a user - if u didn't press ok, your vista would have worked fine (that's probably the most used phrase in the Microshit help desk lol). It doesn't matter You see this shitty popup every fockin 20 minutes it increases security LOL
I wonder why Linux and Macs doesn't have to get a confirmation every time a user tries to install or download anything ? LOL

yeah Very Happy get rid of that vista crap and don't install it for at least a half a year - Vista service pack 1 is about to be released soon - maybe it fixes some problems with hardware including your sound on your motherboard
That's exalcy how it was with XP - i installed it about 2 months after the premiere, and my problems began - graphics card didn't work properly, network card didn't work at all, and my ADSL modem after installing it's drivers said that there was a conflict - after clicking on a button labeled "More" i read - this device works properly

anyway Vista ain't that good as Microshit says - TP S.A, - Poland's biggest ISP cant set up it's ADSL modems untill now - do you know what was the sollution from a guy from this company's help desk for this problem ? Buy a router, connect your modem to the router and the PC to the router! What the f**k man!? My friend bought a new laptop with oryginal shitty Vista installed and he couldn't surf the net LOL this is amazing - The XXI century and Vista equals no internet lol (at least in Poland) Buy a router ?? WTF !? Just spend a lot of $ for a new laptop, Internet worked fine on an old laptop, so why buying a new must mean buy a router too??

my advice - install XP and forget about DirectX10 for now. Give it 6-8 months and everything should be ok. then you'll have to love your new friend - a popup window Very Happy Laughing so hard!!

it does Sav, but:
1. it's shitty like hell (very simple)
2. it doesn't allow you to format the drive where you have your winshit installed

yeah - like my friend - just add an ADSL modem and you'll miss XP like never before ;]

The adivice about goig back 2 XP is already been taken but now i face this problem...yes another.

I instal my drivers for asus motherboard "NVIDEA nFORCE590 SLI MCP Support DVD".

Then i wont to instal my 2 graphix cards.
So i put in VGA Driver cd/rom and press install in menu.
The wizzard pops up and installs it. But during this instal i get another wizzars telling me "ASUS GamerOSD Win2K/XP/XP64 2.05" wil configure my Video card that thinks its the best way.

So During this installations i get a warning from XP

"This software in not in norms whit the XP logo test and i shoulndt instal it"

But i think wtf this software come's from my driver cd/rom so i must be oke to install al this.

Then its says al well installed blablabla you must reboot.

I let it reboot... Windows starts ups...Then i c a flash of a bleu screen..then it reboots againg continueing this over and over again.

Al i can read from the bleu screen is "there is been found a critical error..." but then it flashe away because of the reboot and i dont have fotographic memory.

I dith this all after i dith al my update's /SP2/ so this cant be the source of my missery.

i'd try doin this:
1. download latest drivers from nvidia (1 for motherboard chipset - NVIDIA nFORCE590 SLI, and another for grapgics cards) and install the ones for mobo only,
2. Reboot and uninstall graphics card drivers (Control Panel->add/remove software)
3. Install new drivers

If u can't run your windows, try rinning it and uninstalling the software in safe-mode (press and hold left shift while booting winshit).

let me know if that helps m8
oh, and what cards u bought goldie?

Nvidea 8600GT

I run the VGA cd/rom driver again but this time when the error came "Windows logo test" I canceld the instatlation. That was a software pack not realy nesesery for installing my Videocard's.

Then i let it reboot again and the the blue screen came again and it reboot again like before but now only 1 time and evrything works fine now.

Now im 1 step away from installin rtcw cause i stil have no soun (Soundmax HD Audio).

I found on google that Soundmax hd Audio is the same as RealteckHD Audio and i found driver update there and downloadet it but that Setup.exe wont run and al i get is an error so im stil not out of that problem

Setup.exe wont run

that's usually caused by a bad download or a virus or some other sht which came with the driver. try downloading another one from a different location.
