A clever people, yet so self-destructive!

How can Israeli leaders, after the explosion of what amounts to a internal civil war among the Palestinian population in Gaza and elsewhere, still believe there is any hope of a moderate Palestinian leadership arising – be it Abu Mazen or another – that will be able to rein in all the fanatic Islamic forces and factions still bent on the destruction of their sovereign state: Israel?
If, with all the guns he has received from Israel and the West, Abu Mazen cannot even protect his own Palestinian people from violence, massacre and kidnapping, how in the world does the leadership in Jerusalem imagine he will protect ‘the peace’ he is supposed to make with Israel one day?
Egyptian president Anwar Sadat, who had a far more stable government and loyal security forces to protect him after he made peace with Israel, was still murdered. And that by the same fanatic Islamic forces which certainly will finish off any Arab Palestinian Muslim leader who, by now making a peace agreement with the Jewish State which they so hate and despise, dares to betray the Hamas, Hizbollah and ISLAMIC JIHAD dream of one day conquering all of Israel.
No one on the Palestinian side who truly wants to make peace with Israel will survive. As Sadat and other Arab leaders learned, this is not done in the Muslim-impregnated Middle East.
The very same forces that, with endless bloody massacres, have been shattering President George W. Bush’ dream of bringing Western tailored democracy to Iraq, will also bring down his dream and vision of a two-state solution; the vision the world, and even most of Israel’s leaders, now accept as the solution to Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
It will all come to a very bloody stop – all to Israel’s pain and possible destruction.
It is not intellect that is missing among Israel’s ruling elite as I myself witnessed during the recently held prestigious Herzliya Conference but: plain courage. Courage to go against all the opinions and pressures of the world and do what is truly best for Israel herself.
It was this commodity that the living G-d of Israel required from His Servant Joshua to be victorious when He said: ‘Only be strong and very courageous’.
May such leaders of faith and courage soon rise in and for Israel’s sake! _________________ JUDEA & SAMARIA are clear and unquestionably JEWISH!
