Telindus beats Panevezhys only in last seconds

Oostende Telindus won an away match against Panevezys 63:61(16:18;16:18;13:14;18:11) http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/9093/prastokaixj1.jpg Home team started better and won the first quarter 18:16. Nothing changed in the second quarter, Telindus couldn't take the lead and lithuanian's were still winning 36:32. After the half time, Telindus players were struggling in offense, but played better deffense 50:45 Panevezys was winning. In the last ten minutes, home team got out by 9 54:45, but later Telindus made a run 14:4 and were winning 59:58, after Desaver scored both free throws it was 61:58, but Panevezys had some time, Abdul Mills shot a three but it was no good, Staskunas took a rebound and Papucka scored a three 61:61 with 11 seconds left, JP Mitchom made a good assist and Petravicius scored two points, Telindus won 63:61. JP Mitchom was the man of the match:

He scored 14 points, also Mitchom made 2 assists, stolen 1 ball, blocked 1 shot and grabbed 3 rebounds. Mathias Desaever scored 10, Saulius Kuzminskas also scored 10 points. Rutenis Paulauskas: "Today we played a lot better in deffense than agains Scottish Rocks, but today we played very bad in offense, there was no real leader in the team, Mitchom played good, but he shot too many three pointers, i want to see much better play from Chris Marcus, he should be a leader of this team." Next game is the first match in Belgian league, against the deffending champions Charleroi TEC Spirou. Oostende will play at home.

I thinked tou will smash Panevezys but.. But still with a victory.. Good 2pt shooting by Mitchom but 3pt shooting is very bad.. Kuzminskas good game Wink

Why he played just 18 minutes? 6 blocks! Good..

becouse they lead all game execpt last few minutes

Kuzminskas played only 16 minutes, because i trusted Marcus more today, anyway Kuzminskas made a progress his inside shooting now is 16, 2pt is 14 and if i will see, that he is playing better than Marcus, than Kuzminskas will get more playing time.

Telindus won against the champions!

Oostende Telindus at home beated deffending Belgian league champions Charleroi. Telindus won 82:77(26:22;16:18;25:19;15:1 Cool

In the second quarter Oostende was winning 42:32, but then Charleroi made a run 8:0 it was 42:40 after 2 quarters of play. After the half time, Telindus played very good and before the last quarter it was 67:59 for Telindus. Charleroi managed to tie the score in the last quarter 73:73, but home team played last minutes better and won 82:77. man of the match is a player from New Zealand Mark Dickel:

Mark Scored 18 points by hittin 3/3 from the 3 point line, he also blocked one shot and grabbed one rebound. Saulius Kuzminskas scored 14 points, american Tony Dorsey 12, another american JP Mitchom scored 10 points. Rutenis Paulauskas: "We won against a very strong team, but i must say that we made too many turnovers and fouls, we must progress and play even better in the next game." Next game is away against Moins-Hainaut.

Telindus lost agains Moins-Hainaut

Today in an away match Telindus suffered first loss this season 97:88( 20:20;20:25;20:26;28:26) http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/389/shudasuq5.jpg In the first quarter both teams played pretty much the same and the score was tied 20:20, but in the end of the second quarter Moins-Hainaut started dictating their rules and were ahead after two 45:40. After the half time, home team started hitting three pointers one after another and had an eleven point lead 71:60. Telindus did not manage to change the game in the last ten minutes and lost 97:88. man of the match:

Jean Marc Jaumin, 34 year old belgian point guard was killing Telindus with three pointers. For Oostende JP Mitchom scored 17 points, lithuanians Kuzminskas and Petravicius had 12 points each, Chris Marcus scored 11, Greg Harrington scored only 7 points, but he made 8 assists. Rutenis Paulauskas: "Very bad game for us, again too many turnovers, too many fouls, i was trying a lot of deffensive systems in this game, but nothing worked today. Anyway Moins-Hainaut is one of the strongest teams in Belgium and it is not shame to loose to them, but we can't play like this, i must fix this problem. The only think good about this game is how playmakers played, Mitchom scored points and Harrington was searching for open teammates." At the moment Telindus is in the 5 place of the league, next game is at home against Bree.

i think that big reason why you lost is many fouls. 3 players go out with 5. Also you couldn't stop Moins leaders. Good luck in next matches!

Victory at home against Bree

After loosing away, Telindus won at home. This time they have beated Bree 87:79( 22:17;30:19;18:16;17:27) http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/6026/pergalesz9.jpg Oostende started with a run 10:4, but after the quarter Telindus was winning only by 5 22:17. Rutenis Paulauskas players played a very good second quarter wich helped Telindus to get a 16 point lead before the half time 52:36. After the half time the lead got even bigger it reached 24 points 60:36, but after the quarter only 18 70:52. In the last ten minutes Bree played a lot better, but Telindus managed to win 87:79. Man of the match:

Chris Marcus led the team with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Marijonas Petravicius scored 14 points, Saulius Kuzminskas and Greg Harrington scored 10 points each. Rutenis Paulauskas: "We played very good for 30 minutes, but in the last quarter we played really bad, we have to play 100% for whole 40 minutes in the game." At the moment Telindus is in the fifth place of Belgian league. Next match is away against the last team in the league's table Liege.

Saulius Kuzminskas and Marijonas Petravicius have great season and show theirs real face. I know that they are good players and see many potential in future. Congratulations with win!

Oostende had problems with Liege

Telindus won, this time an away match for the first time this season, against Liege 77:61( 22:14;15:20;16:15;24:12) http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/7566/nelengvaiws9.jpg Both teams played almost the same in the first quarter, but when the score was 14:14, Harrington made 2 three-pointers in a row, Bodet scored a two-pointer and Telindus was winning 22:14. In the second quarter Liege was killing guests with three-pointers, so before the half time there were only 3 points seperating the teams 37:34. After the half time Telindus made a lot of turnovers, Liege took the lead 48:45, but guests made a run 8:1 and were winning after 3 quarters 53:49. In the last ten minutes, Liege had no chances, Telindus played good offense and deffense and won the match 77:61. Man of the match:

Once again american center forward Chris Marcus, this time he made a double-double by scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, he also made 1 assist and one steal. Marijonas Petravicius also played good in the paint he scored 14 points, another PF belgian Sebastien Bodet scored 12 points. Rutenis Paulauskas: "This time i am glad about deffense, in other matches we had problems because of opponents three-pointers this time we managed to neautrilize their shooters, but he struggled in offense, once again too many turnovers. I am really happy about Chris Marcus he is starting to show that he is the leader of this team, but i am really dissapointed about Saulius Kuzminskas, he played terrible today." After this performance Telindus is still fifth in the belgian league, next game is at home against Pepinster.
