Score 0(0) v 0(1) the Casualty for the Legion.

This game was defined by the poring rain and very aggressive defence. Neither side could reliably pickup the ball and apart from the initial runs forward (once the ball had eventually been picked up) the ball only ever went backwards. There where two telling factors; in both half's only the kicking team had any realistic chance of scoring, and neither coach managed to get an effective cage operational.

Due to the number of time the ball was popped out of the hands of a carrier, we saw both a Black Orc and a Dwarf Blocker holding the ball but neither managed to hang on to it for long.

As the quantity of Blocks thrown was very high, there where a fair few Armour breaks but only the one Casualty, MNG for a Hobgoblin.

An interesting aspect was the number of times that an unskilled 2 dice block was thrown against a defender with Block. This is understandable with 6 unskilled Strength 4 players and 9 Strength 3 players with Block, both pretty much evenly spread between the teams.

For a game with such a low headline result it was a lot of fun and a great learning experience for myself.

Big ups to Dave for finally bringing home the Cup.

Remember you get a bonus reroll as the cup holder that is removed whan another team wins it. (Note i usually ditch it immediately!)

Also remember double winnings for the semi and final games.

A big thanks to everyone who came. I think the tournament was a success and we hope to run it again next year - hopefully it will be the 21C March and not the snowy one next year.

We just need to work out how to upload everything to NAF now...
