Well, hello.
Heard about this league a little while ago, but it seemed to be having some trouble getting started. Decided to check up on it again tonight and lo and behold, it's only bloody running!
I'd be up for joining in a few weeks, if that would be OK.
But who the hell am I, you may be wondering...
I've played for a couple of years, primarily on Cyanide. I'm a lead admin and founder member of the OCC, which with some 210 active coaches is the biggest league for that game I know of. We're coming to the end of Season 13 and I've played in all of them.
I've had a hankering to join a TT league for a while and whenever I've seen Scottish guys join OCC I've asked if they know of any in the vicinity of Glasgow, without any joy until I stumbled across this place.
I'm not a complete novice to tabletop, having played exactly 12 matches. I know the number because they were all at the Welsh Open in Newport, in which I have competed twice.
Yes, I really did travel some 400 miles to get my first ever taste of TT action, and in a NAF-sanctioned tournament no less. That should tell you I'm fairly serious about BB, even though I'm not terribly good.
I can't join immediately - I won't even own a team until after my NAF Championship debut later this month, but I have purchased a fully painted Undead crew from a friend (who happens to be the captain of Team Wales) and will bring that back with me.
The only other major piece of kit I don't own is a pitch, but I'd be willing to buy a few bits and pieces if I had a regular league to go to.

Hi Doomy,
Not sure how many of the GBBL peeps are on here. I think their FB page is a bit busier:

Keep checking here if you like tournaments though. Should be a couple happening very soon. _________________ MACHETE MACHETE!! |

Hi Doomy
Welcome to the group. Hopefully you'll be able to get into the GBBL ok next season.
As Ant said keep an eye out here for upcoming tourneys - pretty sure there is also a facebook group & also here:
http://www.talkfantasyfootball.org/.
I haven't played online for a while but let me know if you want a game on Cyandie any time.

Thanks guys, I dusted off my long-neglected Facebook account and submitted a request to join the group as suggested.
And I'd be up for tourneys that don't require travelling hundreds of miles and booking time off work as well. |

I'll let Shaheen know about your request and I'll get some details about my tournament on the 30th of June up later today. _________________

Hi Shaheen, thanks for the welcoming words and admitting me to the FB group.
Consider me keen to get stuck in though as I say it'll be a while yet until I have all the kit.
In a way I'm glad not much has happened yet - it means I won't be turning up with a rookie team against TV2000+ monstrosities.
As I say I have some experience running leagues, though online rather than tabletop, and also know a few guys who run large and well-established groups I can ask for advice if we encounter any snags.
Once we have the details thrashed out I'm sure we can try some advertising to attract more members. There are a handful of Scottish guys in OCC who might be interested, and we could maybe ask the Blood Bowl podcasts to give us a mention too. |

Whatever it takes to make this work.
Doing my share of running OCC takes up a lot of my spare time as it is, but so long as the workload isn't massive I'm happy to help
The venue sounds great. The main thing we need now is a handful, say 4-6, coaches who will commit to turning up for every meeting. That would give us a strong base to start with.
It's been strongly recommended to me that we use a strict fixtures list rather than any other format, complete with forfeits for no-shows.
I find fixture-based play much more enjoyable anyway, you know what's coming and can plan for it. |

| So... who is the captain of Team Scotland? There's a European championship coming up. |
