Greetings, all!

I go by Astridh, and I'm from Aethelmearc (Blackstone Mountain/Port Oasis).

I'm new to the SCA, having only two events under my belt, but my friends and I have dived head-first into the whole thing. I took the initiative among my group of newbies (the rest of which are male) to head to fighter practice, and the rest followed. I'm used to being the lone female in a sausage fest (O the joys of going to an engineering college!), but, to my delight, I've never been treated any differently from any of the boys fighting.

Currently, I'm working on getting my kit together. As the name suggests, I'm playing a Viking, and I'm going to be focusing on Varangian style for my armor. I'm hoping to be authorized by Aethelmearc War Practice, and I'm looking forward to contributing here on the forums. =D
