I cannot throw a killing blow with sufficient power from that stance.

| Lots of good things there, and very similar to Duke Michael's principles. I use my shield for a greater proportion of my blocking and have the sword back, but I use a pretty similar strategy against leg - head fakes when I am in decent practice against Sir Felix. |

I actually watched that a few weeks ago and decided to try and adapt my stance to something a little more like it and it may work out ok for me. I can't throw an offside without setting it up and throw hard enough to kill from it unless I am able to move my whole body into the shot. It's hard to describe but I kind of have to crank my hips and shoulders into the offside.
I'm fairly big though so as long as I am using good body mechanics I can throw with plenty of power from a more a frame style. With my shoulders being so screwed up I have a hard time with staying power using a more bellatrix type of stance.
I do want to work more on the shrug to block instead of working really hard to move my shield into position though.
I am not sure about the footwork he uses though. It's just very different from what I've been doing and I don't feel very mobile when I'm standing like that. _________________ It's not the most powerful animal that survives. It's the most efficient. -Georges St-Pierre

| It's worthwhile to practice being about to remove the weight from one leg or shift balance "invisibly" You can do some amazing stuff without the tells if you can prep your balance without your opponent seeing. Unfort. messing up my knee has not helped at all there. |

exactly balance weight shifts etc (please forgive /\/\y pidgin english /\/\y period co/\/\/\/\a shift and "/\/\" keys have given up the ghost) any stance will work at so/\/\e point in a fight since hopefully you are /\/\oving and dodging and feinting to gain the advantage throwing a lot of blows at a sheild is wasteful of precious energy and /\/\akes one look awkward and unskilled if you look at what brannos is doing he is using his core to pull the blows through he is not using just his ar/\/\ this is a point i think /\/\ost f/\/\ale fighters do not grasp or at least do not use as well as they could /\/\ost likely fro/\/\ lack of insightful trainers _________________ Martel le Hardi

As a glaivesman, I have to move my feet. ALOT. So I try to translate that to any style I use. I think sword and buckler develops footwork awareness as well and that certain types of larger shields emphasize footwork. Centergrip teardrops, the next style I am going to try, is one of those. _________________ Martel le Hardi
