Hello all! I am brand new to the SCA and fighting! I actually found the SCA by looking into archery a while ago, wandered into a fighting practice thinking it was jumbled all together! Boy was I wrong! It took maybe two weeks before they had me on the field in loaner armor and I love it! We're working on my first shield this weekend.

Hopefully I will be lurking on these forums quite a bit and learn a lot from the best of the best ladies out there!

I actually had no intention of heavy combat, since I already take kempo and jujitsu several times a week I figured I had enough on my plate. But I felt bad when the marshal showed up with female loaner gear for someone else and she didn't show.

I didn't want his effort to go to waste so I volunteered to use it and ended up having an awful lot of fun, enough to try it again in the second week, and then start working on my own kit immediately.
