Hi ladies,

I'm just curious if any of you are soldiers in the mundane life. It seems many SCA people are indeed members of armed forces, and many more have served in their countries' forces.

My own country, Finland, has mandatory conscription for males, and voluntary service for females. I have served in the Finnish Navy, but after my term I decided that life wasn't for me. All the male fighters in Aarnimetsä are Finnish armed forces reservists, and we use the Finnish close order drill commands.

Are any of you active soldiers or have you served in your country's forces?

Not a soldier myself, though I've been trying to join the police department for several years now, I seep to be hopping from one martial arts injury to the next keeping me just outside of the application requirements for 3 years running now.

That being said I am very grateful to all those that do serve! /salute

Active duty US Army Combat/Line Medic here… currently stationed in San Antonio, Texas for nursing school through an Army program.
