| What a great event. the fighting was incredible. There were 106 fighters in the list and at least 10-12 percent women. On my field I got to fight Duke Mathias (who won the tournament), duke Paul of Bellatrix, Eyvinder, prince of the Mists, Sigifrith, Lord of the Mists, Sir Gunther Beerkiller, Sir Cedric the Just from trimaris, Sir Leothwulf of the Silver Hills, Mark a bastard sword guy that was super good, the Baron of the Far West who had travelled all the way from Japan, and numerous others -- there were 18 or 19 of us on my field and we fought round robin. The finals were awesome to watch -- Duke Haouc, Duke Fabian, Duke John of Skye, HRM Gemini, Duke Mathias, and Duke Conor Weissahn. If you can ever make it out to this tourney, the next one is not until 2011, you should go -- what a learning experience! |

Sounds wonderful. La Prova Dura and Sport of Kings are the two major things on my "wish list". I start drooling every time I hear about them. Great that you got to fight all those guys. And a 19 strong round robin...whoa!
Glad you had fun. |

What a completely awesome event. It was simultaneously uplifting and humbling. I met some really great people. I am still processing it and working it all out to write it up.
I got to know some really great people from An Tir just a little better. How's that for irony? |

Is La Prova Dura always in California? (That is.. is it going to be there next time as well?) We are already thinking of trying to make it and see if we could get a bunch from Drachenwald to join. _________________ Dorothea Weberin, KSCA

| Yes, I think it will always be in Northern California. It is HRM of the West, Gemini's baby . . . |

Yes, it will always be in CA. I missed the event, which killed me since I live so close. Two weeks before, I was at the closing of another event, and HRM Gemini spoke of plans for the next one, in three years. He wants to make it a week long, and at the end will be the inclusion of the West Kingdom's Beltane coronation. If you thought this year's La Prova was good, just wait three years...
