It was my great personal honor to present the Girl's Club's own Mistress Cunian during the precession at this weekend's Challenge of the Heart Pas D'Armes and to have been deeply inspired by her tremendous spirit, honor, prowess and chivalry.

She prepared an Atlantian-appropriate crest for the Pas (shown below), nobly demonstrating how she earned her Laurel.

She then proceeded to fight wond'rously throughout the day, so impressing the various Ladies, Dukes, and Knights in the Gallery that she Won the day and was the victor of the Pas.

To a well-earned victory, and incredibly inspiring, talented, and deadly Lady... Vivat!

That's pretty awesome. Smile I love the little laurel wreath worked in there. Also I didn't know she was a laurel.

Shhh.... Don't tell anybody. She's our stealth Laurel.

Pay no attention to the cool fighting chick.... she's not the Laurel you're looking for.

Thanks.
It wasn't really fighting-winning so much as looking cool and fighting okay winning. They gave the ladies of the gallery and the knights present, (fighting or not), each a token to present to the fighter who impressed them most who was not their lord or squire or whatever. At the end of the day, I had been given the most tokens. I fought a good amount and quit during a lull. A handful of fighters went back on the field after, and I felt bad not to join them but my defence was getting really sloppy. I had expected the crest to have to retire after a few fights, and was as amazed as anybody that it withstood the whole day essentially intact. Anyway - it was fun to be able to add to the pagentry of the thing and nice that the sun came out, though it made the heat very soupy. There should be pictures from Ursus in the fullness of time.

Ahem.

Humility is all well-and-good. But as we are both well aware, a certain Atlantian Duke would remind us of the Chivalric virtue of appropriate arrogance...

This was a Pas D'Armes, not a double-elimination or bearpit or other such tournament format, and as such had very specific victory conditions regarding the accumulation of tokens by the Ladies of the Gallery, the Knights, Dukes, and other Peers and Worthies of the Realm.

Amongst all participating (myself included), you quite clearly most represented to those Worthies present, the fighter best demonstrating *all* the Chivalric qualities -- and thus, you quite clearly won the day.

Since you were fighting for me, and inspiring me (at least to some degree, thanks to the precession)... I ain't gonna let nobody, nohow sell you short (including yerself!). Of course, since you are my friend and comrade, I would be supporting you anyway... but this time doubly so!
