| Baron Max, who sometimes posts here, announced on the Atlantian kingdom list that he's moving to Trimaris for work (Fort Lauderdale, specifically). So Atlantia's loss will be Trimaris' gain. |

He moved to what was my shire, and I actually got to take my first fighter classes from him. Stance, biomechanics, etc. It was fantastic! The collaboratively-developed curriculum he teaches is really simple yet really solid, and it helped me out a lot.
It was also funny that, at the time, the new fighters of the shire in the class were almost all women (many nights, just women). There were at least 4 of us. Max came up with the name "The Valkyrie Death Squad" as a prospective name for our female fighting group on the field
It was from Max that I learned about Battle of the Nations (which I have recently been discussing at length on this forum). At the same practices, I got to hear snippets from him on recent developments in the formation of Battle of the Nations Team USA, since he was helping to coordinate it and might even have considered fighting if not for some sudden bad arm/shoulder issues requiring surgery and all kinds of other inconvenient stuff. From last I heard, he is recovering fine as his normal awesomely jovial self =)
I have since moved out of that shire and miss getting to see and learn from him. But I know he is continuting to help and inspire others! I'm so glad to have gotten to know him.
I also have Max to thank for learning about this forum! If it weren't for him, I probably wouldn't be here yet. |
