I want a camcorder for under $300 to film fights for training purposes. Any recommendations or advice? What do you use? _________________ First authorized: 1996 - 2000

I have one my dad got us and I would not recommend it. The resolution on it kind of sucks, though it compresses video well for specific purposes of uploading to the web. I have it at home, so when I get back from work wednesday I'll look for it. _________________ It's not the most powerful animal that survives. It's the most efficient. -Georges St-Pierre

| Jess, I hope Maria chimes in here -- she and her husband have a hi-def camcorder that takes awesome video. We just have a sony camera that takes stills and up to 10 minutes of video at a time. It is good, but we are filming so much fighting that the HD probably would have been worth the extra $$$ -- the clarity is incredible. When I get home tonight I'll check to see what we have exactly. |

| Jess, we use a Sony Cybershot Model No. DSC-H50. Good things -- takes pictures and video, has a hard drive and lots of memory, the battery lasts a long time. The wish it were betters: the video could be sharper, it works, but after seeing the hi-def and slow mo cams, I kinda wish we had splurged a bit more. I think this camera is in your price range. |

Honestly - we use a Flip for convenience. We have an expensive Panasonic, but it's always the Flip that gets used. Easy to run. Easy to download. Easy to edit. Cheap.
I don't need my fighting videos to be cinema quality.

The sad thing is my LG Lotus actually takes really excellent video and pictures. I just can't zoom with it. Way better than my actual camera made to take video. _________________ It's not the most powerful animal that survives. It's the most efficient. -Georges St-Pierre
