Greetings! I am Gabriela MacGillivray mka Renee from the Shire of Blackwood of the Kingdom of Gleann Abhann. I am relatively new to rapier and the SCA. I am not yet authorized to fight but I would like to become so in the near future, after I dust off my blade of course. I had just gotten to the point where I was ready to authorize when the heat became too much to bear in armor and I haven't been able to get back into the swing of things. However with the fall comes cooler weather and I'm itching to gear up. I'm the only wannabe rapier fighter in my Shire unfortunately so if anyone is in or near North Louisiana and would like to give me some pointers I would love to meet up.

Welcome. I've been fighting rapier in Atlantia for 4 years, which makes me a semi-novice.

If you tell us about your rapier armor, maybe there's a way we can advise you on the heat issues. What's your rapier armor made of?
