Here's a question for you…. what other sports do you do (in addition to fighting) to enhance your fighting skills?
My ex taught & geared me up for racquetball this winter… hitting it hard from the very beginning. I've noticed its made my footwork and reaction time a little better in fighting… and my r-ball shots are almost slams. But the downside has been gauging range. I fight with a 32" sword where the racquet is a bit shorter. Just feeling it out, each fight & each game. Its starting to come together. |

Racquetball actually lead to one of my great revelations. Frequently in I fighting I have the tendency to think of "taking the shot." Racquetball is totally different, since the way you move is how you "make the shot." It requires the footwork and strategy to pick the shot and put yourself in position to take the shot - thus more making (active) than taking (passive). It really changed how I think about footwork and helped me immensely.

Thanks for the feedback… I certainly agree with you. And had a killer game, today. |
