This was a really fun event! I got a bit of fighting in. On Thursday I did the Pas d' Arms. I was actually on the defenders side. I had a couple of challenges. The first was pole axe over the barrier, five counted blows received. I felt I did a great job blocking and it really took my opponent a lot of work to kill me. Unfortunately I didn't get a blow on him. I also fought just a straight sword and shield to first blood. I actually won this shot when I legged my opponent. It was someone I usually have hard time killing and he was having a great day in the Pas and in fact I was the only loss he had. This made me very happy.

Friday was the unbelted tourney. There were 67 entrants so we had four pools round robin. I won at least four of my fights. I know that a few of the fights I lost were due to mistakes I made so overall I felt pretty good about things. After the fighting, the knight who was marshaling my pool pulled me aside. He told me that he thought I won more fights then was shown and that he felt that some of the fighters weren't taking shots from me. He thought maybe it was because most of them were use to winning against me and weren't acknowledging my shots because they just didn't think I could beat them. Does that make sense? He told me that my targeting had been excellent and that I just needed to add a little bit to my shots so that my opponents wouldn't have any wiggle room about the shots. I also had another knight comment that he thought I was more into my fighting and that my mind set was different then it has been in the past. I was more intense in my fighting and that I looked really good. Having two knights come up to me afterward and talk to me made me feel really great!

Later that day we had a chivalry workshop where it was a question and answer session. It was a pretty cool set up and I realized that I am very well accepted as a serious fighter among the knights. I can explain why I felt that but it was just one of the feelings I got. Maybe it's the way they all pick on me and yet still listen to my opinion on things.

On saturday it was all melees. It was a pretty cool set up. First we fought on a bridge. It was timed, one side had unlimited resurrections and the other side had no res. From there we went out into the "hills" where one side had to prevent the other side from getting any fighters into the castle. The third battle was the castle battle. The defenders had the number of resurrections based on the number of fighters total that got in the castle. The attacking side couldn't begin resurrecting until the time it took to take the bridge had elapsed. There was a door on the castle that we got to break down. It was way cool. Unfortunately during this battle I had some issues. I know I've mentioned that I'm very claustrophobic. So we had broken down the castle gate and we were doing charge after charge into a killing pocket trying to break them when I was legged and then pushed down onto my face. Then I had at least three or four people piled on top of me. I freaked out big time and finally got a hold called. It took a bit to get everyone off of me and so I ended up taking a long break from the scenarios. I did end up going back in though before the end of the fight and continued to do charges but I was bit shakey the rest of the day. I felt really foolish about the whole thing until I talked to one of the Knights I have the utmost respect for and he told me that he had an incident at Estrella so he totally understood.

So that was my fighting part of Uprising. Oh and I did get a chance to fight Khai in the unbelted tourney. She did a great job fighting with a halberd against everyone. She should be very proud of herself!!!

You were awesome too!! It was really fun to get the chance to fight against you in the unbelted. It was only my second tournament so it's nice to know that those I fought against enjoyed it. I tried to give everyone the best match I could. I'm soooooo new to this. Smile

I'm glad I fought in the tourney. It was a blast!! Thanks again.
