| I never thought that Love Is... was an especially creepy song until I saw the video on The Commercial DVD. Even friends whom I have shown the DVD agree that that song makes them feel... uneasy

The term "uneasy listening" is a good way to describe any release by The Residents. In my opinion no release by them is more creepy than another. Many times I have tried to introduce them to different kinds of people, and with few exceptions I have received nothing but rage and aggressive behavior. Most people don't figure out what they are all about.
But the very few who have been able to listen have been lifetime friends with The Residents. And I truly believe that ultimately that is what they are seeking.

| So "Kiss of Flesh" is only as creepy as "Troubled Man"? I wouldn't say that, and I know that's not what you mean, but I get you. There is usually a creepy aspect to their music, often an undercurrent, but also sometimes the central mood, e.g. VoM, RoC, Bad Day... maybe the Big Bubble, as well.

The Icky Flix version of 'Where is She?' (particularly this version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqF3BQX8JpQ) is not only amazing but incredibly discomforting. It's like a love ballad from a complete maniac.
"SHE... SHE USED TO BE, A TORNADOOOOO BUT, NOW, NOWW, NOW SHE'S A FREAAAAAAAKPIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEE OH SHE'S, OH SHE'S, OH SHE'S A FREAK IN THE SEEEAAAAAA-WHERE IS SHE? WHERE IS SHE?!"
Oh and Bouncing Benny, geez. Being in near dream-state in the dark at 4:00 in the morning blitzed off your ass listening to Freak Show is something else, I'll tell you hwhat.

| Is it just me, or is there a bit of a Freudian underpinning to that song?

| What images or thoughts do you get from Flight of the Bumble Roach? What is that song about?

1. The Weaver - The first time I listened to this was on the music video suite, which gave me a week of terrible insomnia. Yes, I was that scared.
2. Burn My Bones - One of my favorite Residents' songs. So much dark feelings in this one.
3. Sinister Exaggerator - The vocal effects sound like something you'd hear on Halloween.
4. Six More Miles (To The Graveyard) - Do I really have to explain?
5. Give It To Someone Else - First Residents' song I've ever listened to, creeped me the f**k out, and still does to this day.

Yeah absolutely agree, Burn My Bones is fucking class.
The whole of Animal Lover is really unsettling but Burn My Bones feels really inhuman and vicious. Amazingly chilling end to the album.
