It was called the Vauxhall Astra in the UK. At any rate, Vauxhall badged vehicles would be a bit weird in the P85 setting on mainland Europe.

An Opel Senator A2 would be an interesting idea, as they were used by BRIXMIS.

That said, I wouldn't mind an Opel Ascona CC. My dad had one of those when I was a kid (Vauxhall Cavalier) Very Happy

i splited front window, added wheel on mask
also i made new NOHQ for LR, it was Arma1 , 1024 px, now it will be 2048 pix, better lines for doors + lock + cut for reflectors + grill new

+ refreshed MTLBU pics above (prev. post)

as FTP works again, i am uploading (16 minutes left)
please test P85 update of veh pack

- PSZH
- LR serie 3 updated (hardtop, softop, ambulance)
- CJ5 hardtop
- fixed damage wheels in trucks, cars, apcs,
- MTLBu


of course it needs config too (to enable PSZH, new cars in "empty, P85 car BIS crew" )
they are under "east, west, empty" YET not under national packs, cause it is just updated of config + veh pack, of course they will be included and crewed by national armies

Vilas, how (and where) to add the config line if i want to make the T-62's gun stabilized in both horisontal and vertical too ?

Because i had read somewhere (in hungarian) that the 62's turret was stabilized very good in both dimensions.

Vilas,

I know that this is most likely too much to ask, but is it possible to make 1991 style desert units too? Maybe as a spinn off of P85? I know of the Gulf War mod and they have some excellent stuff in there. But to be honest, your infantry looks much better (please guys it's not meant as an offense!) as well as the Abrams (I don't know what it is, but I truly hate the vanilla model as I think it doesn't do this tank justice)

or can you add the texture selection feature on the vehicles and infantry?

after this public-test some bugs were reported and fixed

fixed versions go to FTP:

- P85_V < fixed steering wheel of UAZ 469 inside, moving steeringwheel in UAZ 469 open + damage effects,
more smooth modeled LR Ambulance (this arch over wheel rechested few posts above by Guest), more icons (UAZ open, Marder, FV10x, Unimogs, GAZ 69, LR Ambulance... etc. etc. )

- P85_config < new icons applied, iconsizes fixed , damage effect of UAZs,

- P85_POL_sol.7z < UAZ 469-open icon applied, UAZ 469 darker skin used (cause previously by mistake USSR and PL UAZ were the same khaki, so now PL has dark green UAZs, darker than USSR khaki)

- P85_German - as requested on BIF, i added MTLB APC to NVA, of course feldgrau skin too, not only khaki green

EDIT : P85_V will be ready ca. 18:30 CET , 6:30 PM in Central Europe, more map icons

i have them in vil_characters addon (so called "weaponholders")
there is US infantry in:
- sixcolor + PASGT and alice webbing
- tricolor + molle vest
- woodland from 90s, RBA vest , LBV88 webbing

Today i ve seen the PSZH in your wiki. Exactly this vehicle was used by the East german Bordertroops and the special Police Troops that I have made for ArmA 2 in the Police Pack 2 Addon (Diensteinheit IX) GDR name SPW-PSH. Vilas,

this is something that has been puzzling me for quite a while already. When placing (for example) a P85 T72 next to one from the default game, the P85 tank is a bit taller.
You can also notice this when looking at the spaceing between the roadwheels and the sideskirts.
By the way, I noticed that on the T-64 and T80s as well. It might just be me, but it somewhat breaks the 'feeling' of those tanks. Vilas I know you're using blueprints and you are trying to make it as exact as possible, but from the pictures that i've seen, soviet tanks have a pretty low silhouette, while the P85 ones are taller than a M1A1 (excluding the HMGs of course) which they shouldn't be according to what I've read:

comparison T72 / M1A1.......comparison T64 / M1A1
height T72: 2,23m...............height T64: 2,17m
height M1A1: 2,44m.............height M1A1: 2,44m

yet the P85 T64 is also higher than the Abrams.
Vilas, is it difficult to correct? If not, could you consider doing it?
And one more thing: The engine exhaustfumes (the smoke) on the P85 T64/T80 appear at the same place as in the T72s, shouldn't they be at the back of those vehicles?
finaly: could you add a DDR T72 without sideskirts and smokelaunchers? From what I've read they didn't have smokelaunchers until the late 1980s. (I might of course be wrong here, still it would be nice to have one with a 'naked' turretfront Smile ) Just noticed that the Polish faction has this exact 'T72', could you make a NVA skin too?

Don't get me wrong, if it can't be done without lots of work or if you simply don't want to do it, I'm fine with it of course! P85 is one of my alltime favourites in the Armaverse and it will for ever be Smile

Well, I after my last post I thought, that I might as well do something productive and look for bugs. Here is what I found. So far I only took a closer look at the Bundeswehr vehicles, but of course I'll look at the other factions too.

Things I noticed:

Some vehicles have a shadow 'bug' which seems to be caused by missing shadows for their tracks or at least their roadwheels (happens only on tracked vehicles). Vehicles affected by this are:

Bundeswehr:
The Leopard tanks (all Leopard 1 and 2 models), the Marder IFV, the M109A3.
US Army:
The M2 Bradley IFV (all camos) and the M109
Royal Army:
The FV 432 ambulance / APC, FV 101 Scorpion and FV 107 Scimitar.
Red Army:
BMP 1P

some other random stuff I noticed
BW:
The German M113 had different smokelaunchers than the one it currently has. picture here: http://www.panzerbaer.de/types/bw_mtw_m113_g2_a2_pzmrs-a.htm . Although this particular tank is a mortar carrier, these smokelaunchers were installed on all German M113s. Because of the smokelaunchers the vehicles fording gear couldn't be fully retracted. picture here: http://www.panzerbaer.de/types/bw_mtw_m113_g1_a2_beobpz-a.htm . According to my sources however, the stowage box on the front of the vehicle seems to have not been present on the M113s until the early 90s (the reason for its introduction was the addition of the external fueltanks at the back of the vehicle. This plus the diesel engine which powered the M113 GE made it too heavy to float).
'bugs' in P85:
Leopard 1&2, Marder and Jaguars : comanders periscope is pretty much useless, as you can only turn left or right but not up or down, which makes designating targets very difficult.
Leopard 1&2 : When selecting 'player as comander' you actualy start on the loaders position, so you have to manually switch to the commanders seat.
Marder: The 20mm lacks a HE type ammunition. Also, when fireing at enemy vehicles, the Marder uses its 20mm with a very slow rate of fire . Usually a BTR60 will have no problems in taking out a Marder in a direct firefight, which shouldn't be the case.
Also, your model seems to be depict the 'A1' variant of the Marder not the 'A2'. At least according to the following link:

on the picture in the middle you can see that the 'A2' Marder received a thermal sight for the gunner which is not present on your model.
Also the vehicle front seems to be a bit different than yours.

Finaly, do you have plans to make a few support vehicles (fuel, ammo, repair) based on the Unimog or MAN trucks?

indeed T72 is 5 cm too high , but i don't know where to cut, it is not higher than M1 as you see,
measuring in-oxygen it looks for me that height of T-XX serie is ca. 2.30 and M1 is like it should be

- BW M113 changed
- shadows changed on M109, Leos 1s&2,
- Marder track changed a little (it had right side first wheel bug)
- T-64, T80 also rebinarized because of fume extraction, oops , noone noticed it since Arma1 Wink

- fixed missing model entry in bonus US'99 units
- more agressive use of 20 mm Rh202 canon (Marder, RACS V)
