So, I went to my doctor today and told him that I couldn't cope with the side effects of Yazmin anymore (nausea, loss of appetite, shivers and chills, anxiety, panic attacks, chest pains, extreme fatigue, feeling faint) and also told him I had been off it for a week.

So... he takes my blood pressure and says it's stress as I lead a busy life-style. Yay. Why don't they understand?? I know it's this god awful pill causing this mess!

I've been on Diazepam for over a week now and he refused to give me anymore as it can become 'addictive', that stuff helps me to function every morning! SO FRUSTRATING!!!!

Has anyone else been told this? Crying or Very sad

Hi cat,

Yes, I suppose nearly 95% of us been told off by doctor the same thing. Of course some of us leads a busy lifestyle but Yasmin's contents somewhat exaggarate the major side effects.
Do browse around the forum with useful tips contributed by the ladies here.

We are all here to listen and support.

Hi cat,
your story and symptoms are so similar to mine. i started suffering from that pill 3months into taking it and was at the doctors once sometimes twice a week for 7months. It started with the stabbing chest pains and then the list went on, back pain shoulder pain, ear problems, nausea, vertigo, stomach problems at this point i was told i had ibs' panic attacks the palpitations were so bad at night i really thought i had a serious illness and wouldnt wake in the morning !! I can remember crying thinking what the hell was wrong with me , my whole body felt like it was shutting down on me. Everytime i was back at the doctors he kept asking me what i was worrying about to cause all these symptoms its STRESS!!!!!! I stopped yasmin 23rd dec and symptoms have all gone i havent really suffered any withdrawal (touch wood ) ide say im 90% back to normal even the painfull periods are back!!!! just taking it one day at a time, it will get better. x

Hi Cat,

The heck with doctors... they are horrible! We all get the same lecture.. Coming off the pill is very, very traumatic for the body and since you are only a week off this pill, your symptoms should go down as time goes on.

I know what it feels like to feel like this is hell on earth.. but it will pass, I promise.

Most likely you will not get any help from doctors, at least not help that will benefit you in the long run. The only good thing your doctor did was to deny you more Diazepam as it will 1) make you possibly addicted to it, and 2) put more toxins in your body. Doing this the natural way is by far more beneficial for you and your health, even though the first few steps are pretty rough.

Rest, a healthy diet, moderate exercise, and supplements will help you get over most issues. Did you read the Nutrition Recommendation post? It might give you an idea. And if you have questions, you are off course welcome to ask me, I am always here to help - I have been through most of it.

I really feel bad for you, but don't give up!!
You can email me if you want to helena.mathis@hotmail.com

Many warming hugs,
Helena

Thankyou everyone for your replies! Yes, it's all been a bit of a rollercoaster lately, but today I went a whole day without taking any Diazepam! Still felt very stressed out and anxious, but hey ho! Popped into the health shop today and bought some st john's wort and vitamin b complex, was told that they worked great together, so fingers crossed and hope for the best!

I found the magnesium really helped calm my anxiety - you might want to try that too.

And like the other girls said, I think each one of us were told "it's stress". I told me Doctor - I just finished college - I'm the least stressed I've been in years! She didn't believe me. Ironically enough the only person who didn't tell me it was stress causing my symptoms was the therapist I finally went to (because the other Doctors convinced me I had developed an anxiety disorder). He specialized in anxiety disorders and recognized right away this was a physiological response I was having, not a mental response. And he was right!
