I have endometriosis and the only thing that helps it is being on continuous hormonal birth control (no break for periods). I'm having horrible effects on yasmin (awful eczema, headaches, depression) but my gynae put me on it because she thinks it's the best BC on the market (and she's one of the best gynaes for endo, so I really can't change doctors). I'm seeing my GP on friday to talk about changing my BC and I was wondering if any of you have reccomendations. I was on Microgynon before but it caused massive weight gain.
Thanks Smile

Cinnamon,

I'm sorry about the endometrisosis. It's is absolutely wrong that Yasmin is the best birth control. A very prominenet book written by a panel of doctors, states that it should not be used at ALL.
Book: Worst Pills, Best Pills: A Consumer's Guide to Avoiding Drug-Induced Death or Illness

http://www.amazon.com/Worst-Pills-Best-Consumers-Drug-Induced/dp/0743492560/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337268865&sr=8-1

Furthermore, there have been over 200 deaths from Yasmin in the USA, thousands of lawsuits have been brought forth, and a woman has even been blinded from Yasmin. I have not heard of any other birth control pill causing this extent of problems. Many of my friends say their MDs have stopped them on this pill.

I could not recommend a birth control pill, as I think they are all very harmful. I know that there are NDs that believe you can treat endometriosis naturally and I have read about an MD, Dr David Redwine who has had 75% of his patients experience complete relief of symptoms. I just want to point out that there are alternate things to look into other than pills.

I wish you all of the best.
