I think the Tee idea is great - better than great, and I'd buy one but only one that is kinda non specific and would only mean something to someone else on yasmin. I just wouldn't feel comfortable standing in line at the supermarket with a list of side effects on my back, especially the mental health ones and ones that I may be a bit self conscious about like hair loss or something and then draw extra attention from the person behind me to start looking at my body for obvious signs of that stuff. Also until someone starts experiencing the side effects I'm pretty sure they really won't care...because I know I read through all of them in the pamphlet back in the day and just went ahead anyway with the notion of "well not everyone gets side effects"....and I have talked to girls who take it and still think it's great even with those risks if it is giving them clear skin or big boobs or whatever.

So again I think to advertise but more of a way to target girls who are looping out on it and have been to the Dr to be told something silly like "oh girls bodies just do silly things sometimes" (which was told to me).

Anywhoooo on the shirts I don't like the I survived ones - the word survives to me implies victim and I refuse to loose more of my life to Yasmin by feeling like a victim.

I like the What's another name for Yasmin (oooo I could think of a few that would not be appropriate to wear in public *%^& ing beep beep beep)

I like the Yasmin with the red circle cross through it too

I think if you have birth control pills written on the back your just opening yourself up for a comment from someone who may be pro bcp still (which frankly isn't worth the stress for someone fragile post yasmin who is just trying to help others).

On another note an idea for the profits rather than sponsoring someone else on supplements would be to put that money into more educational material, If there were some posters that I could put up on my community noticeboards that would not have any legal repercussions but could highlight yasmin and yaz than I would certainly take a few minutes to put them up. They wouldn't even need to say the yasmin survivors website but just stuff like....

If you think your girlfriend has bad PMS try living with her when she takes Yasmin BCP, pretty much anything to make someone go hey yeah and hit google to find out for themselves.

Thanks for your comments Sahana.
I think it is hard to target women who is looking for answers and not target the rest of the people that might be in the market, no matter if they are for or against. That is why it is a good thing that we actually put a personal quote from someone instead of just listing side effects. We don't want to be like a walking Rx insert... because you are right. If you are not suffering you will think "they will not happen to me" - I used to be one of those people too.

I like the idea of posters - I might actually make up post cards of something similar and send it out with the t-shirt that people can leave out wherever. I do agree - we need to spread the knowledge of it. And as of today they passed a bill that all BCpills are now free! No copay, no nothing - hey are free... to avoid unwanted pregnancies. How about teaching girls something about their bodies instead?!?!? Makes me sad..

I will be announcing the result of the votes within the next few days.

Thank you so much for this t-shirt! I am a Yaz survivor. Only by the grace of God did I survive. I had a pulmonary embolism, with the main artery in my left lung clogged 95 percent from top to bottom, lung full of fluid, and some fluid on the right lung. I spend 11 days in the hospital (at least a week of that I was in Intensive Care Unit. It took 3 procedures split up over about 24 hours to remove the clot. The last one had a piece break free during the procedure and was headed for my heart! Thankfully, one of the several people doing the procedure was able to catch it in time. There is so much more to this story, and almost 2 years later, I am still in pain every day, and I have serious doubts that I will ever recover (I was perfectly healthy before this happened), but I will post more in a more appropriate place soon.

For now, though, I have a few questions or suggestions for the shirt. First, I noticed that in the example, there is more room for more symptoms on the list. If it's possible, please include Pulmonary Embolism on the list. I'd like to see death listed, too, but I don't know how everyone feels about it. However, I personally think that if people saw a shocking word like death on the list, they may actually pay attention. And, yes, that is a possible side effect. It is so sad, especially when it has killed healthy teenage athelets. Anyway, that was just a thought. The second qustion I have is this. Since taking this pill and being hospitalized (and having difficulty walking now, so I don't get as much exercise as I need), I have gained about 100 pounds, so these fitted t-shirts won't fit me (I assume they're fitted like the one in the example). Is it possible to get them in a regular t-shirt? If not, how big will they be? I deffinitely want to buy some of these (I'm thinking of giving them as gifts to my family and friends), so do you know when they will be ready? Thanks so much!

Let me know if there is ANYTHING I can do to help. I am unable to work anow, so I have a lot of free time and I really want to help somehow. I'm very interested in starting a support group in the Los Angeles area for survivors and friends and loved ones of victims to meet in person. So if anyone is interested, please let me know. I will try also to post something about that in a different area of this website. Thanks for all your hard work, and God Bless!

Hi gudbaur,

I am glad you found the forum - welcome. Your story is horrible - I am glad you are still here. I would love to have a quote from you to put on the t-shirt. You can send it to yasmin_yaz@live.com and I will add it.

The t-shirts will not be snug fitting as the computer models of them. But in a women's tee - not a unisex tee. We will have sizes up to 2XL so you should be able to feel comfortable in this.

I would like to talk to you about possible things you can do to loose the weight you have gained, but not in this thread...

Hey I just registered in the forum and I find the idea about the t-shirt very neat. However, I can't see any newer response on the topic since October last year, so I was wondering if it is up and ready to purchase and if so where can I order it? Smile

You described that the clothing would be cut for females, but would you be creating one for men as well? I know there are a lot of helpful husbands/boyfriends who would like to help propagate the phrase too after viewing what their considerable other has gone through. Maybe their clothing would be a little different.

Almost 2 years after the idea came about the t-shirts will be printed!! FINALLY!! You have all been very patient!

Hopefully you will not be disappointed.
Will post link on where to order them once they are up.
It will be around the new year as I was planning on pulling the last straws to the pile during my short Christmas break.

Hugs EVERYONE!

Helena are these t-shirts still available? I just discovered this forum (and have been overwhelmed with the feeling that I'm not alone in my battle - FINALLY) and would really love to order a shirt as Yaz gave me heart disease. I stopped it 4 months ago and it is still wrecking all sorts of havoc on my body (severe acne, depression, hair loss, no sex drive, fatigue, and the lasting effect of heart disease among others). Reading this forum has made me realize that some of the problems I have are related to Yaz and I didn't have any idea. We MUST spread awareness about how destructive this medication is.

Dear Kay,

I am happy you found us and that you can feel comfort in that you are not alone. Many of us battled hard to get to our "happy place" after all of this.
I will post here as soon as the t-shirts are available. I am still working on some of the printing issues I have been faced with.

Stay STRONG!!!

xoxoxo
