i made it to 4 months then went back on for another 3 weeks I have not been able to stop obsessing over my health. Every twinge or pain or abnormality I feel in my mind it becomes magnified and I obsess over it I can't sleep at night I cry because I believe I am dying. Its also scary that the doctors for whatever reason seem to think my issues are all in my head and not at all related to the pill. Every single issue I have now NEVER existed before birth control. I also believe I have some sort of thyroid and insulin issues and dehydration. I get shaky hands and weakness, sweating at night, random muscle twitches the only symptom I do not have is frequent urination. My stress level is just through the roof. Sometimes my heart feels like it is racing and just beating so hard like it is going to pound right out of my chest. |

Oh my goodness! I can't believe that I found this website. I have been on Yasmin for 8 years and decided to come off it 3 months ago. I have been experiencing terrible, terrible fatigue and lots of emotional problems. I have been feeling really uptight, anxious and irritable with massive mood swings too. I was almost at the end of my tether and just decided to google this topic today. I am absolutely astonished that there are so many people who are experiencing exactly the same symptoms.
I thought Yasmin was the 'best' pill ever. I thought I wasn't having any side effects whatsoever and I even encouraged friends and family to try it. I didn't realise that some of the health problems that I was experiencing were related to Yasmin. I have experienced hair thinning over a period of years and thought it was just normal. In addition, I have had chest pains (had an ECG too), floaters in my eyes, numbness and tingling in my arms and legs, restless legs, insomnia, IBS and the list goes on! Goodness knows what else it is responsible for.
Ladies, the question is, how long will it take for this awful mood to lift? I am like a bear with a sore head? I am so irritable and all I want to do is sleep! Hate this and I really want to just snap out of it. I have had enough of this already!!! |

Its such a relief to know other women get the tingling too. I thought I was dying when I started to feel it. I am at the point now where I feel like a hypochondriac every sensation or feeling I get makes me panic and have a break down . |

Jane... are you off of the pill now? Have you tried magnesium/calcium for the muscle spasms? |

I have been three months off the pill. Definitely better than when I just got off it. Still struggling with anxiety problems at times. I wonder if we every recover from anxiety? It's like, just when I thought that I have kept anxiety at bay, a small trigger is enough to make anxiety surface again. When the anxiety/panic attacks start, it's so so so tiring. Yes, I can totally feel for the gals who shared that they keep thinking that they are suffering from terminal illness. And when I read of cancer in the news, I become so scared. I was getting persistent numbness in the first two toes of my right foot, and occasional numbness in my right leg. It's like how one of the forum members shared that the numbness seem to be on the surface. The numbness has gone away, as in, it's not as consistent as last time. But I have to be careful about the way I sit because the numbness comes back easily.
On days when I don't get anxious, I am good. However, my cycles are still very wonky. I have been spotting since 14 April. Trying acupuncuture and herbs now.
I can only encourage you all to hang in there. |

Hi,
its been a while the tingling and night sweats have gotten a lot better. I am extremely paranoid about my health. I am now terrified to go to the doctors because what if something is really wrong. I kept waking up last night to numbness in my left hand. I don't know this is so depressing. |

Hi Jane,
Me too...i have become very paranoid about my health. I do not know if it is the paranoia which sets off my anxiety, or the other way round. Either way, it is making me very tired mentally (due to the constant worryin) and physically (due to inability to sleep well).
I experienced numbness and tingling in my left hand previously too. Although reading that others experienced the same too, but cannot help feeling terrified and upset when I was experiencing it. |

Yes, tingling has stopped though I still get mild numbness in my right leg a few times a week. It comes and go. I understand your fears about the tingling. It's like.. I kept hearing about people's tingling going away so why didnt it go away (then)? But eventually the tingling went away. It doesnt stop immediately. It comes and goes but in lesser frequency and intensity. But eventually it did.
Hang in there, gal. If you need a listening ear, feel free to pop my a private message. |

I am convinced that going back on the pill for a couple of weeks back in march was the stupidest thing I have ever done. I find myself still suffering from persistent numbness especially at night. It wakes me up and scares the crap out of me because I immediately think life threatening illness. It's frustrating that when I even suggest that all of this was brought on by a birth control pill people look at me like I am crazy. As god is my witness prior to birth control the worst issue I had was a cold. A lot of my symptoms have gone now or improved the tingling and numbness is lingering. The rapid heart rate only happens occasionally. I am grateful for that. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions to help with the tingling and numbness? |

Exercising helps somewhat. I still get some mild numbness now and then but it doesn't freak me out as bad as last time. |
