Hey,
not so many people reply anymore but i'm new to here. i was on yaz for 20 months&have been off for 7 weeks now. when does the first lights out of the tunnel usually appear?

i've shared my side effects on that topiv as well.

hope someone can help me. the things i suffer the most are nausea, anxiety, fatigue and sometimes shortness of breath. (plus the bloating kinda GI issues). i used to have fatigue&nausea and occassional anxiety. but having gone off, the anxiety worsened. it's generally like 1 week i'm so bad, and then the next week better. and this one started out as a bad one, too. but as soon as i have nausea or fatigue, generally i get anxiety attacks as well. i want to get better. i want my old energized self.

i'm taking b1-b6-b12 supplements, plus vitamin c + calcium.

I've seen most people say the first 3 months are the worst, then gradual improvements are seen.

I know how you feel - I've been off 9 months and I have had major improvements, though it seems every 3 months I relapse. The first 3 months were hellish. I didn't even know why, at the time, weirdly enough. I just quit Yaz because DH and I were trying for a baby.

The supplements you're taking look good - I'd try adding Fish Oil and Magnesium too, though. You don't want to take too many at once, or your body gets very confused.

Good luck!

Hey Silmarien!
Thanks for ur answer. i was also wondering how the relapses are. Like you were saying every 3 months. are they shorter? like about a week, or a month?

with me, the first acouple of weeks after i quitted were good, not great maybe, but pretty good. then after the 3rd-4th week, the anxiety appeared, stronger than the small episodes i used to have while i was on the pills. and fatigue-nausea.

though i should say that the fatigue is better than the times i was on the pills. the thing is i did not feel it the first 9 months i was on them. then the fatigue severed and the nausea came up around 2011 fall. after that i started to use b vitamins, and started to eat better, and that helped. did not disappear completely, of course.

the other problem is i dont know whether they were related but i assume some relation. when i was on the pills, like everybody, i got depressed and since i did not have great opportunites and my love life was hurting me, i started to be obsessed with my weight, which was not even high, (105-110 lbs. and i'm 5' 6'') and that led me to some sort of anorexia nervoza. i'm improving tho in terms of that. i fell down to 89 lbs, but now 92-95 lbs (it really keeps changing in terms of bloating i got after stopping pills. so i stopped weighing myself all together. just makes me more anxious)

i was using magnesium powder for a while, then i got a feeling that the powder version makes me nauseous (tho, i doubt. it might just be the side effect of yaz). now i'm gonna start the tablets, i ordered them. i can consider fish oil as well. i dont want them to stimulate my appetite too much, i get anxious when my appetite is out of my control :S

also i live in Turkey and surprisingly no women talk about these here, they dont even know. it really makes me feel even weirder.

best.

The first 3 months off were the worst for me. I feel like I would make gradual improvements and then fall back a bit. It was a slow process for me, but I was one of the ones who was VERY ill when I came off.

Some recommendations:
1. Eat LOTS of protein... more than you think you need. Calculate it. Make sure you are getting upwards of 100g a day for awhile. This really sped up my recovery.

2. Magnesium.. you need a lot to recover.

3. Vitamin C

4. Stay off ALL medications!

I am now over 2 years off the pill... while things aren't 100%, I am so close to being "fully recovered"... this is coming from someone who had so many symptoms and could not get out of bed when I came off!! Just hang in there! It WILL get better. Your body will heal given time, rest, and proper nutrition.
