I found this site today and it's been illuminating. I've been on yaz for maybe 1.5-2 years now and I was taking celexa for maybe the last 6 months.

The first month I filled my yaz prescription, I was on Gianvi, which made me constantly nauseous and made me cry for absolutely no reason. I went back to regular yaz and the problems stopped.

When I started the Celexa I started having problems with IBS type symptoms, headaches and a few other symptoms. I finally had to stop taking it because every time I forgot, i'd get incredibly nauseous. I found this slightly odd as celexa can be prescribed to help IBS but thought nothing of it.

I stopped taking it maybe a month ago and my symptoms remain. I finally had the epiphany that it might be the yaz causing it. I came here and of all the symptoms I have:

    IBS type issues
ive gained a BUNCH of allergies in the last few months. (bananas for example)
frequent migraines (especially behind the eyes)
    constant nausea
    shakiness/dizziness
numbness in my face and hands
I got on celexa for anxiety - makes me wonder if that's not related
lower libido (its come back up some since getting off the celexa but still isn't great)

I'm thinking it's time to get off this stuff ASAP. Worst to worst it doesn't help right? Its also made me think that maybe the celexa kept me from a lot of the stomach side affects, when it wasn't present, the yaz could shine through?

Maybe i'm overthinking all this and it's nothing more than hypochondria but it sure sounds like a lot of the symptoms i've been seeing on here. Does this sound right?

Actually, I have heard of all of those things happening to people who have taken Yaz at one time or another except the shakiness. (I'm not familiar with Celexa.) I personally do not have those particular problems, but you can find them replicated in alot of these posts if you search. My symptoms are also not heard of that often, and they are strange, but here and there I have heard of them eventually. Just because a symptom is not typical, doesn't mean it's not possible. Just ask me! That's what you call "anecdotal"----heard of once or twice but not studied in a lab. But one thing is for sure----when you take Yaz, there is no doctor who can help you with your side effects. You are left to die on your own. I would never advise anyone to take this stuff.

Yes, Yaz caused the worst stomach problems in me. In fact, it was one of my primary complaints while on it. I was diagnosed with everything you can imagine, including IBS.

FINALLY, I got off Yaz and within 2 months almost all of my stomach problems were gone.

I developed all of the things you mentioned while on Yaz including allergies, horrific nausea, shakiness, dizziness, numbness, and headaches, low libido.. plus much much more. You are NOT a hypochondriac!
It IS the Yaz!

Please consider coming off. My stomach problems got so bad that I missed almost 2 months of work. I had an invasive endoscopy and there was talk of exploratory surgery. It was crazy! Finally, I came off the Yaz and I suddenly began to regain my health. Two years off and I am a completely different person. I didn't even realize how much of myself I was missing while I was on that horrible pill.

I commend you for coming off the of the Celexa... it can definitely have it's own set of severe side-effects. It is a shame your doctor placed you on that instead of recognizing your side-effects as a symptom of Yaz. However, I must say I'm not surprised. Doctors are very unaware when it comes to the numerous side-effects of this pill.

Please consider coming off. The first few months off might be difficult, but they will be worth it. There is nothing more important than your health.

All the best Smile
