Girls,
I was recommended to read this book 'WHAT YOUR DOCTOR MAY NOT TELL YOU ABOUT PREMENOPAUSE' by one of our wonderful girls here and I have not even gotten to the 25% mark yet of it and I already feel that EVERYONE should read this book!!! I feel you ALL have to know about it's existence and then it is up to each and everyone of you to decide if it is a good buy or not - and that is why I am making a thread out of it. (Don't get caught up by the word 'premenopause' it is talking about symptoms that may look like premenopause but are really just hormone balance issues that all of us have experienced and/or are experience in one way or another by taking/coming off birth control)
Hormone balance is the books main message on how to reach it - something we all are craving for, wither we know it or not... the book gets a little technical at times but the information it is providing that not one single doctor have been able to tell me is so valuable and I HAVE TO SHARE IT WITH YOU ALL.
He have written a few other books too that I am just as confident that they will be filled with information that will be a good tool to use throughout our lives to help our mothers, sisters, friends and girls that may need a helping hand:
"What Your Doctor May Not Tell You about Menopause"
"Dr. John Lee's Hormone Balance Made Simple"
The author: Dr, John R. Lee

For you who have read it already - please post your experience.
And if you did go along with his advice: based on what symptom and how long did it take for you to feel better?
LOVE YOU ALL and I hope this book tip can change things around for some of you.

I also got it out once a while ago but only briefly skimmed through it, so I'll be getting it out again, too!
Thanks, Helena! |

Go for it girls, you will be a world of knowledge smarter on this subject and it will help you throughout your life! That I am confident of!
I wanted to post a link to the Author's website and his test page (where you can see what type of imbalance you have, ball park numbers off course) and you can also use his website to order saliva hormone test kits to know for sure.
Link to test:

Good Luck and please share your thoughts when you have finished the book.

Thanks for postling again Helena!
I remember I did this test during my early years and I can say there were definitely a number of 'checks' in each group - the time when my hormones gone haywired!
I did it again now and my results are:
1) 1 check in Group 1 - mild cyclical headaches on certain times of the month which I am currently feeling now as I'm in my mid cycle
2) 1 check in Group 2 - memory problem - yes this always been an issue to me as I have so much to manage at home
3) Nil check
4) Nil check
5) Nil check
6) 2 checks - fatigue & intolerance to exercise at certain times of the month - which I have been getting better, I always knew I have adrenal fatigue but I have improved a lot. Back then, I have more than 3 checks definitely!
Thanks,
Leni |

Hi ladies,
I figured I would give you an update on the progress I have reached after reading this book. After much debate with myself I decided to give it a try. I was debating with myself about hormone treatment... I am, or was, super scared of it... but it turns out that hormone treatment means different things ( http://mi4freedom.blogspot.com/2010/10/hormone-treatment-can-mean-more-than.html ) It does not have to be dangerous... we are not talking about birth control or breast cancer treatments, we are talking about natural ways to reach hormone balance. But it took me a few pages to realize that...
So after reading the book and as I was still having some issues - the biggest one was that I just could NOT lose any weight no matter what I did, and my energy went up and down constantly. So I started taking some of the advice in the book. I started using Emerita Pro-Gest Progesterone Cream and have now almost finished 2 cycles of it. (I decided to use it day 8-28 of my cycle for my first 3 months and then do only the last 14 days after that). And so far I have seen much better progress on my blood sugar levels. They do not go wild when I eat sugar or carbs and I don't gain weight simply by looking at carbs anymore! I haven't lost really any weight yet but haven't tried either. But it is easier to button my pants up!
My energy is UP! And I feel so strong. The Helena that used to cry to everything and nothing is GONE!! I am the Capricorn I was meant to be now! And you have no idea how that feels!! I feel I can overcome any hurdle!
My acne is almost GONE too!!!
I am also taking iodine, b-vitamins, c-vitamin, vitamin d3, fish oil, pro-biotics, and magnesium at this point. And I might start trying some herbs for my adrenal gland when my next cycle starts to see if it makes an even greater difference.
One down side to this book, yes there is one.. They recommend a woman multivitamin to all... I recommend that to NO-one as I feel all that 'stuff' should not be mixed... their knowledge is clearly hormone related and not with general supplements so following their recommendations for vitamins might be a little off, according to me... but once again it is up to you.
Many hugs and speedy recovery,
Helena |
